Paula K. Zeller Art
It recently hit me: The air, and everything, contains atoms and molecules that are in constant motion. Space is very much alive. I paint to reveal the dynamic atmospheres of all my subjects: people, everyday objects, interiors, and landscapes. The subtleties of light are part of this captivating dance.
Oil paint is my medium of choice because it, too, seems alive. Buttery oil paints slide across the surface and interact in sometimes surprising ways. Oils can make a space recede or push forward, and edges disappear. I savor the moments when a portrait seems to take its first breath or when a glass on a canvas shimmers.
